The Copelands joined ACBC in March 2020, shortly after moving to Houston from Plano, TX. They have served in various capacities at several churches where they have lived, including Arlington and Plano, TX, and Albuquerque, NM. Shortly after joining ACBC, Michael joined the praise team as the lead guitar player, and Sherry began working in the ACBC Mothers’ Day Out (MDO) program, where she currently teaches. Michael is now the praise and worship team leader responsible for coordinating, organizing, and leading the praise songs for each Sunday service and our special events, such as Saturdays at the Creek. Michael was ordained as an ACBC Deacon on April 16, 2023.  They have been married since 1985 and have two adult sons – Spencer and Cameron (married to Jia) and are expecting their first grandchild around Christmas 2025.
